Segni mossi
UNFOLDING
AN INTIMATE 5-DAY RETREAT IN PORTUGAL
August 26th to 30th 2026
For the first time, Alessandro and Simona open the door to their creative process.
BlueDot Retreats invites you into the raw, generative space where Segni mossi’s ideas first take form. Together, we will enter a shared field of creation while reflecting on the ten-year path Segni mossi has traveled since 2015.
Each morning begins with embodiment and movement sessions led by Pedro Goucha, grounding us in the relationship between body and landscape. Here, nature is a partner. You will gather impressions and objects from the environment, weaving them into the Segni mossi practice. Through co-living and shared exploration, the group itself becomes a shaping force—turning what you find outside into movement, mark, and trace.
There is no pressure to perform, no fixed outcome to pursue. You are not witnessing a finished process; you are entering it at its source. This is not a typical training. This is Segni mossi, from the inside out.
Reservations open until July 1st.

Segni mossi is a research project founded in 2014 by Alessandro Lumare and Simona Lobefaro. Since its inception, it has engaged nearly 10,000 participants through more than 500 events across 35 countries, spanning cultural centers, festivals, and universities. It has been recognized by HundrED as a leading global educational innovation. Segni mossi’s work explores the interaction between movement and graphic marks and it actively promotes coexistence and diversity through art. Alongside their international trainings, Alessandro and Simona conduct annual workshops in Rome’s public schools, collaborating with Fondazione Mus-e Italia in socially complex contexts. The project has been a module at the Italian National Academy of Dance and its pedagogical impact is now studied by Texas State University. In early 2026, a tenth-anniversary exhibition was held at the 1101 Museum in Seoul Arts Center, in South-Korea.

Dancer, choreographer and educator, Simona centers her practice in contemporary dance and performance. Since 2001, she has been a core member of Sistemi dinamici altamente instabili, researching corporeality, improvisation, and instant composition. In 2002, she founded MAddAI, focusing on risk and bodily vulnerability. Her major project, Segni mossi (co-founded in 2014), connects dance and drawing in over 35 countries. Currently, she develops Boomerang, a hybrid performance-lecture format activating feedback between movers and audiences.

Alessandro is an independent artist and educator working fluidly across movement, drawing, and relational practice. He has performed with contemporary dance companies. As a social worker, he worked with at-risk youth in the suburbs of Rome, led workshops for children with disabilities and refugee minors, and participated in international exchanges. As an illustrator, he has authored children’s picture books and exhibited widely. In 2014, he co-founded Segni mossi—a research project exploring the interplay of movement, space, and graphic marks with people of all ages and abilities.
